Cubic Zerconia vs Diamond Rings

So you have been dating for some time and things have gotten really serious. Maybe you have moved in together, share bills, spend every possible waking moment in each other's presence.and you still love it? Then you may be at the stage of buying her a ring to show her you are serious and want to take this thing to the next level right?
Okay well what if your budget is real tight and you hear that some guys save for six months before buying a nice ring, or take out a mini loan. You may be saying to yourself you cant do that or its not that serious.  Well I heard the other day about a guy who got his girl a Cubic Zirconia. I tracked him down because I had to get his story for my site and maybe shed some light on the thoughts behind it.
He told me his girl really was okay with it and that it was only a symbol of their love. Dude claimed that it could be a diamond, ruby, or a pearl for all they cared, since he had never bought a ring for any woman. I guess he did have a point there, some men will NEVER buy a ring for any one. Rings are a show of commitment, I mean I actually bought a candy ring for my wife as a joke but it was a step in the direction I wanted the relationship to go.
Well this guy went on to say he would eventually buy a diamond when they get married. I have done a little research on this and usually us men don't get around to buying another ring till after a few years if we ever do.
The jury on this is still out, but I do know that women talk shop on their rings. They hold them out and compare them to each other. Money can't buy you love, but it sure can purchase the respect of your friends and family when it comes to rings. My wife mentioned a lady who has a Cubic Zirconia but it is set in a nice 18k white gold ring.
After a day of looking more into Cubic Zirconia's than I should, I really think that if you can afford it, then get the diamond. But if your woman is okay with it, then do so and save yourself the money. Her feelings , after  having you commit to deepening your bond ,is worth more than any stone.
